Without getting too deep into detail, I’ve found myself in a few situations where a blood pressure monitor has been very useful. More than that, it has meant the difference between life and death.
I look at blood pressure monitors as the sort of thing that people never think to have, but it’s a very good thing to own just in case. It can be the difference between knowing if somebody is extremely sick, or just passing it off as them feeling weird.
So when I was given the opportunity to review a blood pressure monitor from LotFancy, I was more than happy to do so.
While I like the idea of this monitor, the inaccuracy is preventing me from giving it a good rating.
Again, it’s pretty easy to use, the big numbers make it easier to read, and the fact that it actually straps to your arm makes it more convenient (and you would think more accurate).
So as far as everything else, this blood pressure monitor deserves 5 stars. When you start getting into the accuracy issues, however, the rating drops significantly.
I tried taking my blood pressure a few times in one sitting, and noticed something odd. On the first try, it seemed like my blood pressure was way too high (a lot higher than normal). So I tried again and noticed the same thing, but before dismissing the product altogether (or assuming my blood pressure had gotten that high) I waited a little bit and tried once more.
Upon my third attempt I finally got a lower reading, but it appeared lower than it should have been. All of this said, if you’re looking for a cheap blood pressure monitor that can give you a range of what your blood pressure might be, this is probably the right product for you. It might alert you to an abnormality if it’s extremely high or low (more than the normal amount off) but if you want something that gives you accurate consistent readings you might want to spend a little more and find something else.
